Title: SME Ltd Engineering and Turntable Products

Description: SME Ltd is a British company established in 1946 and based in Sussex. As part of the company rebrand and new website SME required images that showcased their precision engineering capabilities and high end turntable manufacture. The challenge was to showcase the engineering processes in an environment which is inherently messy and dirty alongside spaces that are packed with machinery for cutting, testing and finishing.
The company has retained the original 1946 building and the business wanted to capture some of this heritage alongside showcasing cutting edge engineering and highly skilled staff. An unusual aspect of this 3 day photoshoot was the use of black and white film or analogue photography.
SME acquired Garrard turntables and as part of the branding wanted to recreate the original service manuel from the 1930’s and so the desicion was to recreate the manuel using film to retain the feel and authenticity of the brand that captured the owners love of analogue technology.
